Early 20th Century Claddagh Door Knocker Fill Rite The steel pipe frame isc. 1900s 1910s Antique cast brass door knocker in the form of an Irish Claddagh ring. It features three symbols wherein a heart represents love, the crown stands for loyalty, and two clasped hands symbolize friendship. The name Claddagh comes from an area in County Galway where the symbol was first invented, a small fishing village on the Western coast. Despite originally being used as an actual ring, the symbol has since been used on just about
