Germany, Weimar Republic. A Red Cross Medal, c.1930 Hold published by Eckstein-Halpaus of Dresden(Deutsches Rotes Kreuz). Organization founded in 1864. In bronze, obverse illustrating two soldiers carrying a nude wounded man, with a red cross flanked by branches of laurel leaves on either side below, reverse inscribed "EDEL SEI DER MENSCH HILFREICH UND GUT" (Let Man be Noble, Helpful and Good), the medal designed by Wilhelm Jngermann (1900 1977), who also designed a table medal with the same images and text, measuring 30. 5 mm x 34. 3 mm (h)
