The Silicone compound is grippy regardless of whether it is wet or dry. It's UV resistant, so it'll never become sticky, harden or fade like some rubber grips can. The silicone material is extremely absorbent which reduces hand fatigue and arm pump. While these aren't a lock on grip the silicone compound adheres to bar remarkably
